Stevenson Family Reunion

We went to a beautiful family reunion in Charleston last weekend.  The area and home we were at  were so peaceful and inviting.  We loved spinning our cotton candy for all of the family members, and my favorite part was watching Uncle Dwight who is 88 years old, come up to our cart and ask for a Rootbeer Cotton Candy Cone.  The best part of our job is bringing smiles to young and old.  🙂

Stevenson Reunion         We had our new flavors available for all of the family to try…  Orange Cream, Strawberry Lemonade, White Chocolate Raspberry, Horchata, and Grapefruit.  My new favorite is Strawberry Lemonade.

Brian is so amazingly talented and added on a shelf to our cart to hold cotton candy cones.

Grapefruit is another one of my very favorites.

Mattie & Ty’s Wedding

Morgan and I went and catered for the most beautifully decorated wedding!  The colors were gold, silver, rose gold, blush, & champagne.  Mattie & Ty are a beautiful couple and the garden and reception center was beautiful.  The rain poured down and we quickly moved inside but the night was sweet.

Brynlie’s Birthday

Our sweet Brynlie turned 4 and after A LOT of discussion, she decided she wanted to have an Ariel Swimming Party.  The kids were so sweet to help me blow up the balloons for her banner, and with 5 kids blowing and tying balloons, it was the easiest banner I have ever made!  Brynlie loved her party and she is so blessed to be surrounded by so many good friends.  We love our little girl!

I think Brynlie was more excited about eating her Ariel Cotton Candy favors than she was about passing them out.  We made coconut and strawberry, and mango and blueberry.   The tags were really easy to make too.  I found a free public domain image online and added the lettering in Photoshop.

The kids loved them!

Cotton Lane Market

We worked like crazy the night before — mixing sugars and finishing the final touches on our cart.  Brian is amazing and built this beautiful custom cart and it is simply wonderful!  I told him the design I was thinking of, and we worked together to come up with this fun & vintage display.  We love the way it turned out!

We had our first market and event at Cotton Lane Market.   We loved spending the day together, and everyone was SO nice & supportive of this new adventure of ours.  We loved spinning the cotton candy & loved the sweet smell of sugar in the air.  We met so many kind people and it was a great place to network with others.  I am amazed at the talent of people. There were so many amazing pieces of art and crafts!  We are looking forward to our next show, especially when we can see familiar faces and meet new friends.

We are so excited about the flavors and labels of our cotton candy!

Watermelon, Pear, & Pina Colada

Lily & Sam from LilyLayne were some of our biggest fans, and are THE SWEETEST girls!

And, our cart looked beautiful all set up for the first time.  It was a beautiful day, and a great event.

12th Birthday Party… Cake Decorating Party

When I was growing up, we had a birthday party every other year.  My mom always had fun themes for our parties- long before Pinterest & Google, she would check out library books and read magazines to create the perfect party for each of us.  She had learned from her mom, and has now passed the party planning down to me.  I LOVE planning parties- especially my kids birthday parties.

This year, for Morgan’s 12 birthday party, I found out that having a birthday party is for “kids,” and is not very “cool” anymore.  So, after me insisting she have a party, we decided she could have a “hang out” for her friends and they could decorate cakes.  It was SO much fun!  The girls ate pizza first and then set to work decorating their cakes.  I made fondant from this recipe which was really easy and colored it the day before.  Then the girls colored their own buttercream frosting and decorated their individual cakes.  I loved seeing the creativity from each girl and the birthday party was a huge success and perfect for these cute pre-teens.

Morgan's birthday and cart

For the brown packages, I bought each girl a cake mix and wrapped it in brown paper and tied with tulle. I also found these really cute little jars at Hobby Lobby with corks and had our local grocery store color sprinkles in the colors of the party.   Then, with our Coconut Cotton Candy, I put them in cupcake liners and included 12 for each girl so she could go home and make her own cupcakes. The girls were so excited to go home and continue their baking skills.   This party very inexpensive, but entertaining and fun for the girls.

The Cotton Candy Cupakes holders were my favorite part.  I love how they look like cupcakes and the girls LOVED them!

Curious George Party

My sister-in-law had the most amazing party for her little boy’s 5th birthday party. The theme was a Curious George Circus Party and the decorations were beautiful and so detailed. We went and spun our fresh cotton candy for all of the kids, and adults too! The best part was seeing the kids watch in anticipation with wide eyes as I spun the sugar and then handed them each their own cone. Yum Yum! 🙂

Our Pina Colada Cotton Candy Straw Favors looked adorable with all of the cute party decorations.

I remember watching Curious George when I was a kid.  He always seemed to be making big messes & getting into trouble! 🙂 I love how this lunch box adds the perfect touch of what Curious George looked like when I was a kid, and how he looks for kids now.

The display table was full of delicious treats, and my favorite part were the little Curious George Books.
